YOUTH INITIATIVE FUND

Picture

In July 2017 the Christchurch Youth Action Plan was launched by the Christchurch Youth Council to enable young people in Christchurch to explore what is important to them and how they want to live their lives, as well as to figure out ways to make this happen. At the launch it was announced that a $50,000 Youth Initiative Fund would be set up to support actions that underpin the principles in the Youth Action Plan.

The funding is now being allocated through a variety of methods: The Big Ideas Fund, Dragon's Den, Revamp: Participatory Budgeting, and the Community Series. Organisations involved in the Youth Initiative Fund are:
  • Christchurch Youth Council
  • Pacific Youth Leadership and Transformation Council
  • Youth Voice Canterbury
  • Canterbury Youth Workers' Collective
